Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) CCPDT is an independent certifying organization for professional dog trainers. To become certified a trainer must log their training hours, submit letters of recommendations, and pass a certification test. Once certified the trainer then must attend continuing education classes every year to maintain their certification. Their website offers a search for their certified trainers.

Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) This national organization allows clients search for trainers in their national database. APDT believes in positive training methods and has educational articles explaining their methods on their website.

Ultimate Puppy The Ultimate Puppy is a great resource for all puppy owners. This site contains information on socialization, house training, basic obedience, prevent unwanted behavior, puppy development and how dogs learn. A week by week guide gives you a training plan that covers multiple areas.
