Dr. Notebaert is a 1998 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. With a special interest in surgery and exotic animal medicine, Dr. Notebaert is currently a member of The Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian & Amphibian Veterinarians and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. As Michigan native, he is a graduate of Fraser High School and Adrian College. He has practiced veterinary medicine in Michigan and western New York, where he spent time as a relief veterinarian at the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, NY. He was on the faculty of Macomb Community College’s Veterinary Technician Program for 16 years and has been a contributing author for a veterinary assistant textbook which was published in 2013. He lives in the metro Detroit area with his wife, children and several pets. He rejoined the Vet Gen team as our main surgeon in July 2022.
